The Weekend

The weekend before the school term commences.....I made the most of it!

Friday night - girls night - see not kates and charlie browns blog.

Lots of girly fun - Chilean restaurant, awesome desert consisting of rocky road ice cream, dairy milk choc sauce and crushed maltesers...mmmm mmmm, cosmo quizzes, stupid/funny photos, realising we are dorks, blogging, and of course gossip!

Saturday - Brunch - Petone

Longest drive ever due to a slip, an hour and a quarter to get there, at brunch for 45 minutes. Made the most of the trip out there by shopping and buying stuff from a Briscoes sale - brings back so many shopping memories. A little worrying that we all bought tea towels and were very excited about it. Mine were pastel striped....very cute and what a bargin. I may also add that we talked about towels in depth at lunch. I confess Im nesting, and loving it. Plus..yes we are getting old.

Dinner was made for me by Anthony - good lasagne - the best he has ever made according to him :)

Sunday rolled around.....and there will begin my new blog....Going to my first proper Kitt family function as Anthony's partner :)

Ooooh, 'the partner'. That's exciting. You turned up at the wake, so they already have met you once :)

Tea towels ARE fun! I like my red-and-white ones.

Excuse my ignorance but can someone clarify what you mean by the word 'nesting'? Is this girly Lower Hutt term?

PS. Cabbage...a couple of your links on the side are f%#ked. Too many http://'s [note the ones I did not set up for ya] tisk tisk.

Note to anyone who reads this blog: ALL the girls who participated in the Petone-brunch-nesting day bought tea towells. Good ole Briscoes.

Nesting is like what birds do. When they go around gathering twigs and moss and stuff to make their nests....

Women start doing that too, in their late 20s. Instead of purely consuming for fashion/entertainment, as we gain more disposable income we begin to enjoy shopping for homeware and trying to make our flats not look like they're inhabited by students.

We enjoy doing things like buying a coffee table and then searching for the perfect 'runner' to put on it (I didn't know what a 'runner' was until I started nesting), and buying decorative candles. And getting things that MATCH. And high thread-count sheets and towels.

    I could go on!
